Project & Safeguarding Manager

is an IT professional who holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Iringa. Over the years, she has developed significant expertise in interventions focused on children and women. Irene joined Hakizetu in 2024 as the Project and Safeguarding Manager, bringing with her valuable experience from both national and international organizations working in similar areas.

Before joining Hakizetu, she worked as a Project Officer in the Family Support Unit at Railway Children Africa and served as Assistant Center Manager and Social Worker at Upendo Daima. Irene has completed various safeguarding and child protection training programs, which have strengthened her skills in these critical areas.

In addition to her work in child protection, Irene is passionate about entrepreneurship. She is a qualified food processor, holding a certificate from the Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO).
