Pst. Gervas Evodius
Is a Pastor, Co-founder and Executive Director of Hakizetu Organization and a passionate advocate for human rights and youth empowerment. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Dodoma (UDOM) and a Master’s Degree in Gender Studies from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT).
As a Mandela Washington Fellow, Acumen Fellow, YALI Alumni, and Africa Visionary Fellow, Gervas has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable women and girls. His efforts have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the YALI East Africa Award for his contributions to enhancing the livelihoods of vulnerable women and girls, and the Africa Philanthropy Award for supporting women and girls to recover from the economic challenges of COVID-19.
Gervas has served on various national and international development boards and professional committees, contributing his expertise in leadership and gender issues. Prior to founding Hakizetu, he was the Program Director at Compassion Community Organization, where he furthered his work in community development and empowerment.
